You have a new idea. The idea turns into a sketch, which turns into a prototype…you move forward. The idea gets bigger. It changes and morphs as more eyes see it and more hands touch it. You learn from everybody – existing companies, team members, friends. You fold in everything.
There comes a point when you see it might be more than an idea, it might be a BIG idea – you come to believe that with your new idea you could change social, change commerce and maybe even change the planet.
Your idea turns into a mission.
You come to believe that as great as social is today, it can be better. You come to see a world where social media can be more than a communication tool – you come to believe there is untapped power in the community of users. If that power could be unlocked, great things could happen.
There comes a point when you see it’s not just an idea – it’s a company – it’s a business, and you’re going to need a team. You’re going to need team of visionary professionals, and you’re going to need partners. Technical partners, business partners, and capital partners. Finding the right capital partner is key. They need to be able to totally embrace your idea and see it for everything it is, and everything it can be.
Today we are announcing that we have partnered with Old Willow Partners – early investors in Groupon – to be our capital partners, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Through them, we have secured 3.5 million dollars in initial capital to get the platform fully developed and tested. Get the apps developed and launched. Grow the business, grow the team and get ready for the next step in our development. The next step in the dream of a better social world, for you, for us, for everybody.
